About
C:> Surrealist painter
Biography
My name is Michele Nave and I paint to explore what cannot be seen but can be felt. My art comes from the need to tell of inner worlds: visions suspended between dream and thought, between symbol and reflection. Every painting is a fragment of my universe, an invitation to look beyond the visible.
My artistic path weaves together different influences: the surrealism of Dalí and Magritte, the metaphysics of De Chirico, the classical harmony of Palladio and Piero della Francesca, the mysterious atmospheres of Lovecraft and biblical themes. To these I add my experience as a graphic designer and web developer, which drives me to experiment, blending painting with artificial intelligence, philosophy, logic and rational thought.
I use ancient techniques such as glazing, gilding and flat colour fields, inspired by the great Renaissance masters, to create works that shine with their own light and seem to stand outside time. Street art, with its immediate energy, has enriched my visual language, making it more direct and powerful.
My works are on permanent display at the Arte.Gallery in Porto San Giorgio, and I also produce limited-edition prints of my works, crafted in every detail to preserve their uniqueness.
Alongside painting there is music: I play guitar, from acoustic to gypsy swing jazz, and I compose tracks that blend metal, electronic and classical music, also experimenting with artificial intelligence. You can listen to them and watch the videos on the Music page.
My works have met the eye and the words of internationally renowned art critics such as Vittorio Sgarbi and Joan Lluis Montanè of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), who recognised their value and vision.
I paint for those who seek emotion, depth and beauty; for those who love to question themselves, to be carried away and to discover. If you are here, perhaps you are looking for a work that speaks about you too.
Welcome to my universe.

Michele Nave travels to London

Michele Nave's painting stands as a most useful example of that hyperfigurative practice which constitutes the most convincing and mature response Europe has been able to offer to the rising American hyperrealism that established itself in the Sixties.
Rosario Pinto
Within these creative dynamics, his work stands out for the happy combination it offers of a light-hearted, richly textured reading of the surrounding reality and an examination of what exists, conducted with the fascinated eye of a fantastic prospection.
